PDP, Labour merger will unseat Amosun in 2015- FayoseEkiti State Governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose on Thursday hinted that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) would soon merge towards unseating the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government of Senator Ibikunle Amosun in Ogun State.Fayose, who made the revelation at his sensitization tour of the South-West at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta, Ogun State, said he had initiated reconciliatory talks with aggrieved leaders and elders of the party in the zone.“Those in Labour Party will join us. I was with Otunba Gbenga Daniel (former governor) yesterday, I have spoken to him. I am going to meet our father, Jubril Martins Kuye (JMK). We want everybody on board”.“Therefore, all our leaders must shift ground. OGD must shift ground. Labour Party must shift ground. Martins Kuye and his group must also shift ground so that we can have a PDP that can win election. Then our president will now win and we will all be happy”, he said.He however identified unity and harmony among party faithful as the only means of actualizing the dream. The governor-elect frowned at the culture of imposition, saying that the party leadership must be ready to grant waiver to anyone intending to join or return to the party.“The party must allow all of us to exercise our rights so that at the end of the day, we will win. I plead with everybody to work together for the interest of this party and I want to appeal to everybody to let the best candidate carry the flag of the party.“There should be no imposition. It is only when we win that we will have something to share. If we don’t win, there is nothing we want to share in zero”, he added.Fayose disclosed that his visit was necessary as the burden would be too heavy for him to bear if PDP did not win in the state during the 2015 polls, expressing his readiness to do same in all the South-Western states.
