PDP Rally: Nsit Ubium Agog, As Stakeholders Mobilises Support for Udom Emmanuel Leaders and stakeholders of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area have declared their endorsement of Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel of the PDP as the next governor of Akwa Ibom state They gave their support when the PDP campaign train visited Nsit Ubium as part of her ongoing state wide campaign for the 2015 General Elections held at the Council Secretariat in Ikot Edibon. Nsit Ubium Council Chairman, Hon. Ekpedeme Akpan declared that, his people are not known for disloyalty. Hon Akpan pledged the continued support of the people vowing that, his Council Area will return a hundred percent vote for PDP at all levels. In his comment, the Special Adviser on Political and Legislative Affairs Bureau, Mr Emmanuel Ibiok, stated that, the PDP adminsitration of Governor Akpabio has done so much for Nsit Ubium and appointed several of their sons into high office. He said it is evil for one to bite the finger that feed him and so charged Nsit Ubium people to resist every pressure to join aggrieved people to revolt against the Party. Otuekong Ibiok asked the people to vote en masse for PDP candidates at all levels. On his part, the Executive Director, Exxon Mobil, Mr Udom Inoyo, who also hails from Nsit Ubium, said he could vouch for the impeccable qualities of the PDP Governorship candidate, Deacon Udom Emmanuel. Inoyo pleaded with Deacon Emmanuel to ensure he attracts industries to the state and site some in Nsit Ubium. The Secretary to the State Government, Engr. Nkereuwem Ekanem reassured the PDP governorship candidate that, the people of the area will support and vote for him as a capable replacement for Governor Akpabio, who, he said, has done exceedingly well. Also speaking, Captain Iniobong Ekong, S. A to Governor Akpabio on security and former Transition Council Chairman of the area, said that his confidence stemmed from the fact that, his people will vote for PDP at all levels because Governor Akpabio has affected them uncommonly. Former Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, Effiong Bob in tracing history disclosed that since 1999 when PDP was born, Nsit Ubium people have benefited so much from the party. He asked the people to shine their eyes as the beneficiaries of th same party are now turncoats in the opposition All Progressives Congress. Describing 2015 as payback time, Senator Bob urged the people not to be deceived into following any mans ambition against the will of God. The Senator said Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts have both had two terms of eight years each, that justice and equity demands that Eket should take its turn. He therefore called on the people to tow the path of right and vote massively for Deacon Udom Emmanuel so he could continue the good works of Governor Akpabio. Senator Bob thereafter called out the Uyo Senatorial Candidate of the PDP, Obong Bassey Albert, the Etinan Federal Constituency Candidate and current Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sam Ikon and the Nsit Ubium State Constituency Candidate, Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke and presented them to Nsit Ubium people as the very best choices for the 2015 Elections. Presenting Deacon Udom Emmanuel to the people as the incoming governor, Senator Bob insisted that, God has spoken and no man can change it. While taking the podium, Hon. Luke who is also the incumbent member representing Nsit Ubium State Constituency, harped that, the political class and the private sector drivers have come together with the traditional institution to declare their support for the PDP to form the new Government. He thanked the Governor for all he has done for the state and Nsit Ubium and revealed that Nsit Ubium have a massive site ready for the incoming governor of PDP to build an industry for the people to work in. In his response, Deacon Emmanuel thanked the Nsit Ubium Stakeholders for their support. Describing himself as a friend of Nsit Ubium who sticks closer than a brother, he assured them that, he would ensure the siting of an industry in Nsit Ubium to ensure that the land is utilized. He said if the peoples need is an industry that isn’t a problem for him, having supervised and facilitated such all over the world. Udom assured the people that they will get better schools, good life and development. Udom argued that PDP represents the best choice the people can make to ensure that sustainable development is maintained in the state and wooed the people to remain focused on delivering victory to the party at the polls in February. The high point of the event came when Governor Akpabio mounted the podium. He recounted the good things he has done for Nsit Ubium, but regretted that the quest of his former Secretary to the State Government, Obong Umana Okon Umana to be governor will not sit right as Uyo Senatorial District have already taken its turn. Chief Akpabio said the people should be consistent in voting for the PDP at all levels to make it right. He said President Goodluck Jonathan remains the best leader Nigeria has had and challenged the people to vote for progress by returning Mr President for a second term and all other candidates put forward by the party. The rally which recorded a huge turnout also had former NDDC chairman, Ambassador Sam Edem, the PDP Chapter Executive led by the Chapter Chairman, Akparawa Inyang Anyang and leadership of the PDP and all prominent stakeholders including royal fathers were in attendance.
