PDP decries Amaechi’s failure to visit injured lawmaker THE Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State has decried the failure of the state Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, to visit the injured lawmaker representing Obio/Akpor Constituency 2 in the House of Assembly, Mr. Michael Chinda. Chinda was admitted into a London hospital about three weeks ago, after being hit with a mace by the Majority Leader of the House, Mr. Chidi Lloyd. A statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the State Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Jerry Needam, expressed worry that neither the governor nor the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Worgu Boms, had asked about the condition of the injured lawmaker. The party said, “Since the July 9, 2013, unfortunate incident in the state House of Assembly, neither Amaechi nor his Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Worgu Boms, or any other member of his fold has visited or asked of the health condition of the dying lawmaker in London. “All they are concerned about is how to secure the release of their arrowhead and attempted murder suspect, Chidi Lloyd, hoping to use the office of the State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Worgu Boms to scuttle the case. “The House of Assembly fracas was activated and amplified by the state governor’s presence. This should have provoked Amaechi to show kindness towards Chindah.”
