PDP will shrink further – ACN, CPC 27/7News The Action Congress of Nigeria and the Congress for Progressive Change on Friday said the ruling Peoples Democratic Party should prepare to lose more states in 2015. The two parties said this in response to a charge by President Goodluck Jonathan to members of the PDP to ensure that they retain at least the 23 states the party currently controls. National Publicity Secretaryof the CPC, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin, described the President’s statement as anextension of the culture of impunity, which has been the bane of Nigeria. He said, “It is all part of the culture of impunity that has been allowed to flourish with the Nigerian state. “It is only when people have true alternatives and it has happened once and I think it is what is going to happen in 2015, this PDP government will be dethroned when the people are able to get an alternative which APC is bringing on board. “When PDP is removed from power, you will see a situation where people in authority will come witha great deal of humility. Leaders are servants of the people; he should know that we are not slaves to be captured and moved around. “We are Homosapiens, individuals, free moral agents. This kind of statement from the President that they must capture 23 states may mean they are going to lose 23 states. “They will lose 23 states to the opposition because there isa total rejection of the PDP. “Was it not the PDP that INEC had to write that over nine of their members in leadership positions are not supposed to be there because they were not properly elected? “Nobody should reckon with what the President is saying; you will be surprised that Nigerians are seriously waiting for APC to be registered.”
