PDP workers ‘luring’ voters held in Kalaroos Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNS): Four workers of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were arrested by the police in Kalaroos area of Kupwara district on Sunday evening when they were allegedly paying money to buy votes for their candidate. Sources told KNS that the four persons were held by people in Parraypora Kalaroos while distributing money and later handed over to police. Peoples Conference (PC) candidate Abdul Rahim Wani and National Conference (NC) candidate Qaiser Jamsheed Lone who are contesting from Lolab constituency alleged that the four belong to PDP and were distributing money to lure voters. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Itrat Rafique confirmed to KNS that police have arrested four people. “We are investigating the matter. Once investigations are complete we can say which party these people belong to. We have contacted election observers and brought it into their notice,” he said. I have asked the police to lodge an FIR and recover the money, he told KNS. Meanwhile, report said, PC and NC workers started protests in the area against the incident which were going on till this report was filed. 9 hrs · Public
