PDWP APPROVES 19 PROJECTS WORTH RS. 7.962 BILLION The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) met on Friday to consider approval of 29 development projects under ADP 2014-15 with an overall estimated cost of Rs. 19.563 billion. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Khalid Pervez, the Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and was attended by Administrative Secretaries and Senior Staff of P&D, Finance, Environment, C&W, LG&RD, Health, Higher Education, E&SE, Irrigation, ST&IT, Home & Tribal Affairs Department, Transport, Police and Agriculture Departments. The forum approved 19 projects with a total outlay of Rs 7.962 billion whereas approval of 10 projects was deferred till the next meeting of PDWP. The departments were directed to have further deliberations on the projects’ design and rationalize the cost to ensure smooth execution. The forum directed that as per policy in vogue, the vehicle, staff and operational component shall be got cleared from the Finance Department separately. The forum ordered enquiry in the following projects to fix responsibility for undertaking the work in deviation of approved PC-I and without approval of the competent forum. The forum further directed the departments to undertake the work on sub component/ sub projects of the projects in a planned manner in accordance with the availability of funds, to ensure expeditious benefit of the project to the public which include Higher Education Sector Construction of GGDC Rustam Mardan (revised), Civil work for Ayub College of Dentistry Abbottabad. While, the approved projects includes, Agriculture Sector, Feasibility Study for Conversion / Up gradation of ATI Peshawar to Management Academy for Extension Services in KPK,Feasibility study for Estab. of Carp Fish Hatchery at Swabi District for Management of Fisheries Resources in Tarbela and Khanpur Dams, Lining/ Improvement of Water Courses in KPK and Sustainable Agriculture Development for Food Security through Integrated Approach in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Elementary & Secondary Education Provision of Stipends to Secondary Schools Girls students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Phase-VI)Health Estab. of Independent Monitoring Unit in Health Deptt, Up-gradation of Bacha Khan Medical Complex for Teaching Purpose of Gaju Khan Medical College, District Swabi, Treatment of Poor Cancer Patients (Phase-II).Home & Tribal Affairs, Strengthening of Prosecution Directorate and PCMC, Home Department., Police, Const. of Police Line-II Mardan, Special Development Support for KP Police and Creation of Model Police Stations, Transport, Computerization of Driving licenses in KPK (Revised),Strengthening of Govt. Driving School Peshawar, Water and certain other projects.
