Ads by Areas of Research The PhD Programme can be pursued in the disciplines of Applied Sciences, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Production& Industrial, Computer Science & Engineering, Aerospace, Material &Metallurgical, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Industrial and Product Design Categories of Scholars/Admissions - Full-time Non-Sponsored with scholarship - Full-time Non-Sponsored without scholarship - Full-time Sponsored - Part-Time - Financial aid /Assistantship may be granted subject to availability of grants from - PEC / UGC / DST/CSIR, etc As approved in the Senate Meeting held on 07.08.200 Eligibility Criteria For Full-time Non-Sponsored Scholars: Minimum Eligibility: Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Master’s degree in Science/Humanities /Management or equivalent in a relevant discipline with 55 % marks in aggregate for general category The candidate must have a valid Gate score or must have been admitted to the M.Tech Program with a valid Gate score For admission to PhD Programmes in Science/Humanities/Management the candidates must have a NET Fellowship (UGC / CSIR) valid from the current year in relevant areas Provided that the condition for Gate / UGC NET will not be applicable to Full-time Non-Sponsored without scholarship category of candidates Selection Basis: Interview will be held by Admission Committee of the Dept., at the time of interview doctoral candidates are expected to discuss their research interest/area; if required, a written test may also be conducted by the Admission Committee of the concerned Department before the interview For Full-time Sponsored Scholars: Minimum Eligibility: Master’s degree in Engg/Technology or Master’s degree in Science/Humanities or equivalent in relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate for general category; the candidates must have served with the sponsoring organization for a minimum of 2 years on a full-time basis The sponsoring organization needs to provide an undertaking as per Selection Basis: Interview will be held by Admission Committee of the Dept., at the time of interview doctoral candidates are expected to discuss their research interest/area; if required, a written test may also be conducted by the Admission Committee of the concerned Dept before the interview For Part-Time Scholars: Minimum Eligibility: Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Master’s degree in Science/Humanities or equivalent in relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate for general category; these candidates must have continued to serve the organization for a minimum of 2 years The candidate must provide a No-Objection Certificate from the employer as per Selection Basis: Interview will be held by Admission Committee of the Dept., at the time of interview doctoral candidates are expected to discuss their research interest/area; if required, a written test may also be conducted by the Admission Committee of the concerned Dept before the interview How to Apply All the eligible candidates have to fill Online Application Form on website pgadmissionspec.nic.in Payment of Fee: After successfully submission of Application Form and uploading of images, candidates are required to pay Registration Fee an amount of Rs.1200/- (Non-Refundable) through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ e-Challan The candidates applying for more than one department should submit separate print of online application on website pgadmissionspec.nic.in for each discipline addressed to Chairman, PG Admissions, PEC University of Technology, Sector-12, Chandigarh-160012 The filled application form must reach the Chairman PhD Admissions, PEC University of Technology, Sector-12 Chandigarh-160012 before due date Name of the department in which the admission is sought should be superscribed on the envelope Check list The application form and detailed information about rules and procedure, syllabi etc may be downloaded from the website of the institute pec.ac.in Important Dates Date of Advertisement: 06th December 2014 Online Registration starts: 10th December 2014 (11.00 a.m) Last date of online registration & fee payment: 15th December 2014 till 05.00 p.m Fee confirmation: 16th December 2014 till 05.00 p.m Last date of receiving the confirmation page along with documents: 19th December 2014 till 05.00 p.m Dispatch of online applications to various departments: 22nd December 2014 Publishing of final list of Eligible candidates by respective departments: 24th December 2014 PhD admission test and interview in respective departments: 26th December 2014 Date of result intimation with waiting list: 30th December 2014 Payment of fees: 01st January 2015 Reporting of new PhD students in the institute: 01st January 2015 Academic registration: 06th January 2015 PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh (Formerly Punjab Engineering College), Sector-12,
