PECANS, PEANUT BUTTER, AND GOD For my evening meal I just had - TopicsExpress

PECANS, PEANUT BUTTER, AND GOD For my evening meal I just had peanut butter and, well, peanut butter. Crunchy, of course, and straight out of the jar. Stuck spoon in, licked it off, stuck it right back in the jar for more. Until it was all gone. You can eat straight out of the jar when you live alone. No one around to say, Eeewww, nasty. Wish my tongue was long enough to stick it in the jar and lick it plum clean. But barring that, I plan on filling the jar about three-fourths full of milk, sloshing it around, and having me a peanut butter shake, minus the ice cream, of course, right before I go to bed. Peanuts rank right up there with pecans, as far as Im concerned. Manna from heaven, they are. Comfort foods. Mood enhancers, and Lord knows I need that. My morning devotion mentioned Habakkuk Chapter 3. While sitting on the love seat tonight in my man cave eating peanut butter, I looked it up: Verses 17-20 -- Even though the fig trees are all destroyed, and there is neither blossom left nor fruit, and though the olive crops all fail, and the fields lie barren, even if the flocks die in the fields and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in The Lord; I will be happy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and He will give me the speed of a deer, and bring me safely over the mountains. Yep, pecans, peanut butter, and God -- they make me happy and give me strength. And I could use a double dose tonight. Thank you, Jesus.
