PENAMBANG (RIVER TAXI) When was the last time you took a ride in this river taxi? With the proposed S-shaped Golden Bridge linking Sarawaks DUN and Kuching Waterfront coming into effect, those fleet of river taxis will subsequently diminished as MOTP. Even with the 3 bridges linking North and South Kuching, their operators are already having their pockets shrunk. The next time you take a ride, hopefully soon - take note of how it has been handled - engine start by pulling a string placed beneath its roof attached from the engine at the rear to the bow in the front - to navigate, adjust the flexible pad placed outside the bow - to stop, tap the wire installed at the edge of the bow - a pair of crossed paddles are in front for any other further assistance. 50 cents per person per one way ride. ISNT THAT AMAZING!
