PEOPLE PLEASE READ THIS - SHARED BY Saara Kashaka 3 November at 11:56 Rental places Seekers, Please be warned! There is a certain lady that is defrauding accommodation rental seekers of their hard earned cash. I suspect she is on Facebook and she is member of most of the properties rental/sales pages. She pretends to be a rental place seeker herself. She will know who has places to rent and those that are seeking. This is what happened with me: I advertised that I have rooms available for rent in a three bedrooms house. She picked up my number from the face advert and phoned me so that she can view the rooms. We scheduled an appointment and gave her directions to the house. She did not make it on time and I decided to leave because I had another important appointment. And because there were people at the house, I told her to just check out the room through them. In the meantime she was busy talking to her two victims who also met her at the house to view the house. I can now understand why she postponed our appointment so that she and I dont meet at the house but only she and her victims. I left the house and she arrived with her two victims, because there were two rooms. The victims liked the rooms and felt that it was affordable because the fees that she communicated to them was much much lower than what they were truly worth. And because the two victims were desperate, they each gave her the deposit money. After the incident, she again phoned me and told me that she likes the room and she will take one of them. She told me that we should meet at the house later so that we can sign the agreement, take deposit and exchange keys. I was so happy about this that I could not wait to meet with her at 18:00. It was around 17h45 that I phoned her to remind her of our appointment. Her phone was constantly off and she does not respond to my sms. Then I decided to let it go because I assumed she is no longer interested in the house. Following morning, her two victims came to the house so that they could get the keys and move their stuffs. They were surprised to find out that the person that received their deposit was not me (Saara) but another fake Saara whose phone is unreachable. She used my name and my property for her Satanic deeds. Please do not give deposits to any person, especially if there is no contract signed and genuine receipt issued. Ask agents, which Estate Agency they work for and verify it with Estate Board (tel: 061- 249885), if it is owners please make sure they provide you with proof of ownership. Also if the rental amount seems too good to be true, please do question it. Don’t be fooled. Criminals are becoming smarter and smarter so should you.
