People feel that the church is a solution center; but the church is an empowerment house where you receive power to be the solution in your environment; to be the solution in your family. Jesus died for all and not some. A Pastor is one whom God has ordained to coach, guide and take care of you; he is not necessarily the one to proffer all the solutions that you need. No one is useless; everyone has an ability; everyone has been empowered by God to do something useful with their lives. This should spur you to live a life of productivity and manifestation and we can live a life of productivity and manifestations. Romans 8:19, “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” The creations are looking forward to your manifestation; so it is your responsibility to manifest and live up to Gods expectations. No matter how life seems, theres a better future ahead of you. The glory of the latter shall be greater than the former (Haggai 2:9); it doesnt matter where we are coming from, where we are going to is brighter and better. Job 8:7 says, “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.” In this church, we teach you to grow in the things of God. What you should desire the most in this world is the right information. Some people think that all they need in life is money and many have been destroyed because of money. If you work with the right information and the holyspirit, no matter how far the glory may seem, it will run to you. People tend to pretend a lot; the highest percentage of love we see in the world today are plastic love. It is wrong to propose marriage to someone you just met except you first came across the person by divine revelation. Watch the people you build your life around. Wealth isnt a criteria for choosing friends. Some people are wealthy yet unhappy. What we need most in life isnt money but happiness. Someone asked why many unbelievers seem to live longer than Christians. A low school of thought will answer by saying, “God is giving them the opportunity to receive salvation.” Thats correct but a high school of thought will answer by saying, “most unbelievers know how to take good care of themselves better than most believers.” Most believers dont know how to manage stress and thats why they die before the time appointed. The fact that we are Christians doesnt mean that no other thing counts. Praying isnt all you should do, forgetting other basic responsibilities. Dont expect God to do everything for you; if God was to do everything, why did He give us brains? The brain weve got is for us to maximize our lives; we come up with an idea and the holyghost blows up that idea into something big. Someone once told me that becoming a Christian guarantees our being rich. Thats not true! There are so many rich unbelievers out there. The reason they are rich is because they made a decision to make use of their brains; everyone has been given the measure of brain; just the same way we have been given the measure of faith. Theres time for everything; time to eat, sleep, read, die etc. People from wealthy homes wont better lead this country but those who have suffered and struggled to make it through life. This is because they would better understand the pains of the poor masses. The pampered ones will continue their extravagant lifestyle by loathing money just to maintain the said lifestyle. Hebrews 5:8, “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.” Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered. He learned obedience so He could fully fulfill the instructions of God. If you were once a beggar on the streets and somehow you miraculously got rich, you wouldnt hesitate to help other beggars on the streets because youve had a firsthand experience of poverty. Whatever you desire from God, someone out there desires that same measure from you. I heard a story about a man whose wife was in labour. The doctors had declared that the only way for her to give birth was by an operation. The said man had no money to deposit for the operation. He trekked a very long distance to his church; he told his pastor to pray so that his wife could have a safe delivery. After the prayers, he trekked back to the hospital to tell the doctor what his Pastor had said about the safe delivery of the child. To his amazement, his doctor slapped him, telling him to go get funds for his wifes operation.. He had to sell some of his belongings yet all he could raise was his transportation back to the hospital. He didnt want to trek considering the long distance hed trekked already. In his excitement to board a cab, a beggar came begging, asking him for the little he had. Angrily, he gave her the money; confused, he sat on the road, telling God to kill him; suddenly, he got a call that his wife had given birth safely. The moment he sacrificed his all, the miracle happened. Theres power in sacrifice. When it isnt convenient to give and you give, theres a great blessing attached. Know this, for the fact that things are not going the way it was planned doesnt mean it will remain that way. Listen, God loves to uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. God did not bring us to earth to live in mediocrity. The way you grew up or the people you associated with have determined the kind of life you live or the kind of mentality you have and this has affected the kind of result you’ve gotten in life. Most times, hardship should not lead you to think low but should lead you to stand up to responsibility and to go higher in life. Unfortunately, many people just accept certain things the way they are and they end their lives like that. I don’t want to get to heaven and discover that there were some things I should have done in life that I did not do because I refused to think and act bigger. What you see in PLBC now and what we are going to grow into as a ministry is a product of how the head thinks. If as a woman, you marry a man that cannot see afar, then you have a limited future. If as a man, you marry a woman who cannot understand how far you see, she will keep dragging you backwards. The length to which you go in life is not determined by God but it is determined by you because God has given you a blank cheque to achieve as much as you want to achieve as long as you are ready to fight to win it. That guy who is making so much progress does not have two heads; he has one head like you. Someone said something yesterday that struck me really hard. He said: “the two hours some Nigerians are using to quarrel; some Americans are using it to make $5000.” Which is profitable? Is it quarreling for two hours and feeling headache afterwards or working and making money? It is wise for you to have time for only productive things. Refuse to sit down and gossip; rather, do some business and make some profit. Time is money. Every time wasted cannot be gotten back. If God wants you to totally depend on Him in everything that you do, why did He give you a brain? Remember that everything that God gives you, He is going to ask you how you maximized it. How much will you tell God that you did with your brain? While one person is celebrating that he just built a hut, another person is celebrating that he built a mansion. What category do you fall into? Where you are going to in life is not a product of where you are coming from (i.e. where you were born, the parents that gave birth to you or the environment you lived in) but it is a product of how much you can see and how much you are thinking. If you think low, you are going to be low in life but if you think high, you are going to be high. While one person is praying to be a community leader, another person is praying to be the president of a country. Your thoughts will determine the kind of actions you will take, the kind of decisions you take, the kind of people you move with and the kind of ideas you will accept. Why are you the way you are now? It is as a result of the conclusions you’ve been making. There are some people that already believe that they can never pass a certain stage. God did not create anybody a failure; He made all a success. Certainly, the processes are not same but we can all be great. Greatness is achievable; it is your right if you will fight for it. We have different categories of people. 1. Those who see a problem and cry about the problem. 2. Those who see a problem and they start thinking of how they will fix the problem. What category do you belong? Be a solution provider. There is no “already made” world for anybody; we create our world.. The things you enjoyed while growing up were created by your parents. What are you creating for your children to enjoy? Children that think great either have parents that are thinking great or the people around them are thinking great. If mummy or daddy is smart, the child has to be smart too. Even if the child is sluggish, mummy or daddy will impute smartness into the child. If everyone around you is thinking foolishly, then foolishness is not far from you. Sometimes, in trying to help foolish people, they could drag you down. When you want to help the foolish, make sure you have wise people on the other side so they can pull you just in case the foolish people are trying to influence you. You might not know that your white shirt is fading until you find a sparkling white shirt. Likewise, you might not know you are becoming foolish until you stay around wise people. What do you have as a check in your life? How do you think? Where do you want to get to in life? Nigerians are one of the greatest empowered individuals in the world but the society is not giving them a chance to think. You are not a rich man until you can enjoy the wealth in peace. The reason some people do the wrong things is because of idleness. If people will think more creatively, the country will be better. Nobody will fix Nigeria; Nigerians will fix Nigeria. When you task your mind and refuse to stay low in life; when you refuse to accept negative things around you and start thinking of the solution, then the world will be a better place. What are you doing with your potentials? All the time you spend to meditate, what do you meditate on? What goes though your mind? When Christians are faced with challenges, they are fast to ascribe it to the devil. You give the devil so much power because you have refused to think solution. A great ministers mum was told by her doctor that she had few days to live because she had cancer. She told the doctor that it wasn’t her portion. She wrote about 200 scriptures on healing and pasted them on her wall. She read the scriptures and confessed them daily. After a while, she went back for check up and the doctors could not find the cancer in her body. All things (not some things) are possible to them that believe. There are people living without parents that are doing great in life yet, those who have parents blame them. If they were dead, will you die too? You have a better platform. What is your opinion about life? How are you thinking? What result do you want to get out of life? Some of you pray to God to do something. In the real sense, you are the one that should do something first. Faith without works is dead. People who have everything done for them always grow up not to be strong. Learn to do things by yourself. The next Generals we are going to have in this nation are not those that have been pampered but those who have gone through the hard times of life. We have some people who respect money as though it is God. They would rather spend their money little by little than invest it. Money saved finishes with time but money invested grows. Build your mind. Your mindset needs to grow so God can do big things through you. A platform that is not big cannot receive big ideas. It isnt about the size of your head but how big it can think.. The Holy Ghost is an excellent Spirit. People who are not excellent are praying to have either an excellent wife or an excellent husband. How will it happen? Excellence attracts excellence. Learn to walk well, eat well and dress well. Life is advancing and you must advance. If you must make progress, you must be ready to handle the challenges of life and fight your way through. Refuse to be the way you are. If you are a liar by nature, change it else it will deal with you when you least expect. Make progress with your life. There are better things ahead. You must stretch your mind. Whatever your mind can see, you will have; whatever your mind cannot see, you will not have. James 1:2- “my brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. Knowing this that the trying of your faith worketh patience.. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” Count all the challenges you are going through because they are working out something for you. If patience gets its perfect course, you will entirely want nothing. When it uses the words “want nothing”, it doesn’t mean you will not have need for anything but nothing will be able to put you down i.e. you will enjoy life without being bothered by anything because you’ve grown into a perfect state of patience. From the message translation, James 1:2-4 says “consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and show its true colours. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. A young man walked into another man’s office and at the door, he saw the picture of the man’s wife. At the waiting room and in the man’s office, he saw the wife’s picture everywhere. Then, the young man said to him: “you must be a very good husband and you really love your wife.” While this young man was praising the other man, the man told him to keep quiet and listen. He said, “when I want to undergo a very difficult task in the office, I look at my wife’s picture and I tell myself that if I can handle this terrible woman, then there is no job that I cannot handle in this office.” The man was using his challenge to work out something beautiful out of life. The above scripture says when your faith is pressed; your true colour will be seen. Any woman’s true character is tested when you push her to the wall. If you push a woman to the wall and she doesnt speak evil, then she is not evil. Likewise, a true friend’s character is tested when there is a problem. We live in a world where patience is of great value. To deal with people, you need patience. Is there any friend you have met or know that you have never had a quarrel with? If there is, both of you have been living in pretense. A Quarrel isnt a sign that Satan is necessarily present; it is sign that there is something we need to understand better. So when there is a fight, dont be fast to say that Satan is responsible; think that someone needs to understand the other better. What does patience do for you? When you grow in patience to a high position, your reactions will become nice or better. Why? It is because patience will have its perfect work. Some of you think that when you outburst, it is a sign of power and when you don’t, it is a sign of weakness. Let me tell you the truth about this. When you outburst, it is a sign of weakness and it also shows that you are foolish because if you truly had power, you would have held yourself not to have an outburst. God does not have a problem with anger; He has a problem with wrath. Wrath is the product of anger. Ephesians 4:26 says “be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.” God did not have a problem with Moses being angry but He had a problem with the decision Moses took while he was angry. When you always react without thinking or not being able to hold yourself, you will make a lot of mistakes. If you can hold yourself and calm down, you are going to make the perfect decisions most times. Man
