~PERILOUS TIMES WILL COME... ~ As we see the end times fast approaching, Christians need to heed the warnings of Paul for such times... 1 Tim 4:1-- But the Spirit explicitly says that in latter times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons. Romans 13:11-15-- And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Paul was not talking to Timothy about the future but about his own time in which he was living. Even though there are numerous NT passages in which the term last days refers to the end times of Messiahs Coming such as Acts 2:17; James 5:3; and 2 Peter 3:3....here they are clearly referring to the present time.... And Timothy was encouraged to understand, know, and recognize this. But opposition to truth is none other than a permanent condition brought about by the schemes of Satan.. And for us today it is just as present as it was for Timothy.. There may be seasons of rest and less attacks by our adversary in our individual lives, but nonetheless, the wiles of Satan are always at work in the world. Those who sit under the false teachers of a different gospel are truly following doctrines of demons....causing their influence to run rampant during the tribulation period. For this reason God will send a strong delusion upon them that they will believe what is false. 2 Thess 2:11 False teachers will be: Lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant,disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving,unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal despisers of good, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God... 2 Tim 3:2-4 This description certainly describes society today... . America alone, has more than 350 sects and cults, and most of them claim to base their doctrines on the Word of God. :O YIKES! BUT THERE IS HOPE DEAR FRIEND: The remedy to this deception is to be born again from above and indwelt with the power of the Holy Spirit who will teach and guide you into ALL truth.... 1 Jn 2:27: As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you believe in Him. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another comforter that He may abide with you forever- the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be with you, I will not leave orphans; I will come to you.
