PERIODIC OBSERVATIONS Every Which Way Thursday 11.13.13 Be still, sad heart! and cease repining; Behind the clouds is the sun still shining; Thy fate is the common fate of all, Into each life some rain must fall. ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow The relief operations in the Philippines is a slow go. We understand the anger and the angst across the country. Lots of people there, without a doubt, find themselves sleepless, tossing and turning – hearts feverishly pulsating in fear. Grief grips within. Consciousness contorting with confusion and consternation trying to make sense of everything. Feelings of abandonment and isolation creep in. Eyes well up desiring to drown misery in tears. We may not be directly affected by this calamity but our hearts reach out to them and we cry with them. While many cant really feel and totally understand their feelings, we however, know how it is to be sleepless in times of severe downturns of life. We stay awake into the wee hours wondering whats beyond now. O, that may we stay aware of the fact that the Lord keeps count of our tossing, and turning and tearing – He knows whats going on in the innermost recesses of our being. Thats what the psalmist felt in his sleepless nights, You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. (Psalms 56:8 NLT) Life indeed, is a deep and stormy season, but thank God theres His Word just for you and me for every night and day in every which way! ...listen to the Lord who created you. ...the one who formed you says, Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. (Isaiah 43:1, 2 NLT) When the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with You above the storm. Father you are King over the flood. I will be still and know You are God. ~ Rueben Morgan, Hillsong
