PERPetuWeight: Black artist in particular are easily exploited when they allow executives to dictate what they create. All forms of expression are (have the potential to be) medicinal, and the artist is here to offer what the people need. However, when the artist begins to create based on the demands of the audience, or industry execs for that matter, the healing property of any organic offering is lost in the shuffle. The current decline of all forms of entertainment is a reflection of the sheep leading the creative sheep herders of the world. Similar to what would happen if a parent only fed their children what they wanted to eat. Straight up pizza, Ice cream and cake at every meal for real. Now, when blacks have to go to outside sources for sponsorship, and those sponsors only want to eat off of you, we are usually forced to compromise. This program has been in place for so long, that many of us perpetuate the cycle by creating what the industry demands of us. We see good artist that are under exposed on one hand, and those *that produce negative imagery being promoted on the other. We began to think that our community is responsible for the success of the tom foolery, and acquiesce to create what the execs call for *(thinking that they are commanding the supply for a demand, but they are merely demanding to deny and command the vibe). When artist Follow Suitwe end up solidifying the mold that the industry uses to get rich while destroying the platform and image of the people at the same time. The artist of the World must revolt against this exploitative system, by returning to the source of why we do what we do Fi True. *If we do not we will continue to feel the weight of executives who are really powerless and senseless when it comes to what the people need. If they ever had a true sense of what was valuable, all of their offerings would be Mega Hits. Ask Godzilla (umpteenth) how that is working out... Bless, #Tshanti
