PESHAWAR: Deadly Bomb blasts claim in excess of 70 lives leaving more than 150 injured as two bombers detonated their explosive vests within an interval of 30 seconds after entering the Church. Church Blast in Peshawar Church Blast in Peshawar According to hospital administration,”The victims of the blast included children and women who were shifted to the LadyReadingHospital.” Chief Executive of Lady Reading Hospital- Dr Arshad Jawed told,” 66 people were confirmed to be killed whereas 130 others were injured in the attack.” Soon after the incident nearby markets and shops closed down in the area as tension and fright clamped the area after the explosions. Furthermore, the infuriated protestors took to the streets and set in flames the belongings of the police recruits who were deputed at the Church for security at the time of blast. Additionally the blasts are being protested in Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad. As a result of protests in Karachi; roads are stuck fast with traffic in Hassan Square, Gareebabad, University Road and CivicCenter area. While earlier the agitated Christian community gathered in Karachi’s Essa Nagri area, in protest against the blasts in a Church of Peshawar. The protesters reportedly pelted stones at many vehicles. On the other hand, The Dean of Cathedral has announced that,”The Christian educational institutes will remain closed for three day across the country.” Various political parties such as ANP, MQM and JUI-F have also announced three days of mourning.
