PETER’S PONDERINGS - In every parsonage that I have lived I - TopicsExpress

PETER’S PONDERINGS - In every parsonage that I have lived I have been blessed with birds of different denominations. In Laredo there was a rather large Horned Owl that hooted in the wee hours of the morning. I didn’t mind waking up to that. Sometimes I would get my binoculars out and take a peek – a handsome gent. At the parsonage here in Floresville there is another huge Horned Owl that stands at least a foot+ with a wing span that is at least over 3 feet. It perches on the corner of the roof. Last night it swooped to the ground in the field between the parsonage and church, ate a meal, and flew off. This week I have been entertained by 2 ducks that, I believe live in the big Oak Tree where the Sunday School classes are (so I’ve been told). Also, there is a Swallow’s nest in the upper corner of the front porch. They keep our indoor cat entertained beyond measure. Wild flowers are abloom, varieties of birds abound, garden produce is aplenty, pickled this and that – springtime in Floresville is such a blessing. In so many ways Floresville, Texas is the Land of Milk and Honey. I invite you this Lenten season to nourish your soul with the abundance of God’s good earth. Faithfully yours, Pastor Peter
