PFC Charles Ek US ARMY update: As of this evening we have located the records we need to get PFC Ek on the schedule at Camp Nelson. Roland Taylor funeral Funeral Home will be taking care of that in the morning. We are looking to do this at 1230 hr on Wednesday Oct 1, 2014 if that slot is open at Camp Nelson. If this works out staging will be around 1030 hr Wednesday at the funeral Home in Winchester. I believe we will have a police escort all the way. Here is what little I know about PFC Charles Ek. He was living in Clark County and a few years back his wife passed. After that he became homeless an stayed in Winchester. He spent a lot of time around the peddlers mall and the people that worked there befriended him. They helped him get through the cold winter and fed him when they could. He move to the Richmond area because of a crack down of the no loitering laws in Winchester. On September 10, 2014 he was found dead behind a fast food restaurant in Richmond Ky. He has been in the morgue sense then. Now here is where we come in this man was our brother. He served his country and for him to lay in the morgue this long is more than sad. We are his family and we are going to show him the respect he deserves. He has no family, just his friends from the peddlers mall and us. This is a heads up and a best guess right now. I well have conformation on this tomorrow and will get the word out as I know there is a lot of interest in this mission. As always Thanks for what you do
