PFK Game Awards for the weekend of Sept. 20/21 Predators vs New Hyde Park Player of the Game: Alex Barberio - Another terrific game from Alex, who picked up the hattrick, continuing his outstanding start to the season Unsung Hero: Jonathan Tietz - terrific footskills all game, great dribbling and passing and fantastic hustle. Goals: Alex Barberio (3), Jonathan Tietz Assists: Jack Belcher, Jonathan Tietz, Matthew Bohmke Raptors vs East Meadow Player of the Game: Evan Lydon - Outstanding in goal making great save after great save. Unsung Hero: Nicholas Figueroa - Playing against kids twice his size he was the most physical and hard working player on the field. Strong runs going forward but always came back on D. Panthers vs East Meadow Players of the Game: Jiavana Schweigert and Mia Napolitano - Five goals between the two of them with just constant pressure all game. Unsung Hero: Emma Murphy - Great defense and passing all game Goals: Jiavana Schweigert (3), Mia Napolitano (2), Katie Vezzuto, Michela Napolitano Assists: Meghan Wetzel (2), Lauren Powers (2) Piranhas vs Mineola Player of the Game: Brady Schmidt - Goal and an assist in a great, balanced game on both ends of the field. Unsung Hero: Kevin Kramer - Two great potentially goal-saving plays with great hustle and speed to get back on defense. Goals: Brady Schmidt, Niko Zervos, Joe Mule Assists: Brady Schmidt, Danny Molloy Pumas vs Dix Hills Player of the Game: Meghan Wetzel - Played well on both sides of the ball. Really in control of herself. Stabilized the defense and just missed on a scoring chance. Unsung Hero: Jiavana Schweigert - Great positional defense in second half and has improved her control while maintaining her aggressiveness. Goal: Juliet Cimaglia Assist: Kaitlyn Vo Power vs Albertson Player of the Game: Joe Sayers - Joe continues his great start to the season with a pair of goals and great work on both halves of the field. Unsung Hero: Matthew Henglein - Kept us in the game with several big saves Goals: Joe Sayers (2), Christian Napolitano Assists: Ty Gelman, Cavit Ireland Pythons vs Mineola Player of the Game: Anthony Ciaramella - So strong on defense and anticipating the play to prevent any real chances from Mineola Unsung Hero: Nick McDonald - Tenacious in all three midfield positions. Great through ball for an assist. Goals: Ryan Maggio, Anthony Barberio, Alex Sanchez Assists: Nick McDonald, Matthew Henglein Pride vs BW Gottsche Player of the Game: Lyla Buscemi - Played the whole game and was an absolute rock at center D. Gottsches big front line kept trying to use their size, but Lyla won virtually every battle the entire game. Unsung Hero: Lily diMonda - A big part of our success this game was using the outside space. Lily was terrific at receiving with a great first touch and getting the ball back outside to strengthen the attack. Goals: Lauren Delaney, Bella Greenwald
