PFS AUTUMN WRAP UP The weather gods have been very kind to us over the last 3 months, allowing us to fly almost every day (which doesn’t leave much time for me to update Facebook). However at the moment you need an Instrument Rating just to drive your car to Bankstown… perfect time to grab a cup of tea and study for your exams! The Duchess is still available at an unbelievable rate – the cheapest in Sydney. If you have ever wanted to try flying a twin, now is the time. Jenny will be running another instructor rating course, starting in August. Let her know if you are interested in joining. Don’t miss out on your night rating while the days are still short. The winter solstice occurred last week and the days are getting longer. We now have free wifi available to all students. See Tania if you want help setting it up. If you are looking to top up your aircraft’s oil, look no further than the cupboard attached to the hangar at the southern end of our parking area. Ask your instructor for the padlock code. You will also find a chamois in each aircraft for windows only, not for oil! Richard is enjoying his new life in Singapore, flying the Learjet all over the Northern Hemisphere. He sends everyone his best wishes. NEW FACES Chantaine Barrett, who has recently passed her instructor rating, took up her first students this weekend. Welcome to the Pacific Flight Services team! Welcome grade one instructor Phill Entwisle. Phill helped Jenny (yes they are related) with the instructor rating students and will continue instructing between his other job at Wingaway Air, flying Chieftains. And you will have noticed Douglas, our merchandise model, greeting everyone who walks through the front door, and scaring Gary when he walks in at night. We still have some polo shirts, caps, bags and pens for sale. The following students have achieved fantastic results in the air from March to May FIRST SOLO: Jorge Alvarez, Jake Reid, Alex Garbett, Trent Shirvington, Srivaths Ramkumar GFPT: Alex Garbett, Alex Hetherington, Rupert Taylor PRIVATE PILOTS LICENCE: Angus Stanistreet, TT Tan, Jason Wong COMMERCIAL PILOTS LICENCE: Chantaine Barrett NIGHT RATING: Jay Gnanasekarian INSTRUCTOR RATING: Andrew Liu Wei Terk, Jay Gnanasekaran MULTI ENGINE ENDORSEMENT: Tim Staunton MULTI-ENGINE INSTRUMENT RATING : Ridhima Sehgal Keep the blue side on top, and if flying over Prospect keep the lighter blue side on top!
