Without regurgitating all the reasons why, if youve been connected to this town and its music culture, then perhaps some points were valid. But in the midst of such artistic angst, rose a calming voice that simply said...Keep The Faith. Mike Boone, Byron Wookie Landham and the late, Great, pianist- James Sid Simmons, produced a CD of the same name. They assembled their friends and featured solos/arrangements from the best cats from Philadelphia. From Gregory Riley to John Swana to Uri Caine and many others. Sometimes, people just lose Faith. Hope needs to be restored. This video is of Mekhi Boone. Mike & Kandeece Hinmon-Boones seven year old, multi-instrumentalist son. Last night, at a new club in Overbrook called Calabash, Mekhi was soloing on Cedar Waltons, Bolivia, then leading the band back in. Listen to the crowd! This is what Hope looks like.
