PHL CONSULATE GENERAL IN NEW YORK HOLDS BACK-TO-BACK CONSULAR OUTREACH IN PHILADELPHIA AND TOMS RIVER 29 April 2014 – In order to serve more members of the Filipino community, the Philippine Consulate General in New York held a back-back consular outreach in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Toms River, New Jersey from April 5 to 6. A consular team, headed by Deputy Consul General Zaldy Patron, was able to provide 94 consular services for passport, dual citizenship, civil registration, and notarization of documents to Filipinos in Philadelphia on April 5. The team went straight to Toms River where they were able to process 46 consular services the next day. The outreach in Philadelphia was conducted in cooperation with the Filipino Executive Council of Greater Philadelphia (FECGP) while the one in Toms River was with the Filipino-American Community Development Center, Inc. (FCDC). Representatives of the Wage Hours Division (WHD) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) of the US Department of Labor were also in Philadelphia to inform the community members of their labor rights and benefits as well as issues related to labor safety. Consul General Mario De Leon, Jr. thanked both FECGP and FCDC for hosting the consular outreach in their respective areas. The next consular outreach was held on April 26 at St. Anne’s Parish Church Function Hall, 9 Cleveland St., Salem, Massachusetts 01970.
