PHL EMBASSY IN RIYADH EXTENDS 437 CONSULAR SERVICES IN HA’IL 01 August 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh visited the city of Ha’il from July 25 to 26 for its 23rd Embassy on Wheels (EOW) consular outreach mission this year. Ha’il is a city in northwestern Saudi Arabia which is popular for its agricultural production and its historical significance as being part of the camel caravan route during Hajj. The Embassy estimates the Filipino community in Ha’il at around 800. The mission extended a total of 437 consular services to the Filipino community in Ha’il and other adjacent areas. The six-member Embassy team, which was led by Consul Mary Jennifer D. Dingal, processed 402 passport renewals, 14 notarials, seven reports of birth and five passport extensions The team also released nine new e-passports. Consul Dingal thanked the Filipino community volunteers, headed by Ms. Ameera L. Domingo of the Kapisanan ng mg Manggagawang Pilipino (KAMPI), for the support and assistance they have extended to the Team. She also emphasized that passport holders have the primary responsibility to ensure that their passports remain valid and that they may apply for a new passport a year before its expiry. She also underscored the importance of obtaining and an appointment through the Embassy’s official website for the renewal of passports at least two months before the intended appointment. As part of the Embassy’s program to improve customer service, the outreach mission also distributed client feedback forms to 400 clients, of which 291 responded as follows: The next consular outreach by the Embassy will be in Al-Khobar from August 8 to 9.
