PHOTOGRAPHERS BEWARE! Renowned media channels like IBN Lokmat by media group Network18 steal photographs clicked by photographers from blogs / social media to use it as their own in a promotional video with NO PRIOR PERMISSION or PHOTOGRAPHY CREDITS (In fact the watermark has been conveniently cropped off) In the below video the 1st photo stolen is my copyright clicked last year of Paresh Deshmukh playing the dhol. The rest of the images too seem to have been flicked from here and there off the net. Its a shame to see such a big media channel violating content rules and disrespecting photographers in the country. While it is natural to like someones work online, a prior permission and credits are expected as a code of content usage etiquette. Photographers upload low-res photos and watermark them to display their work online and this doesnt necessarily mean it is available to be used for free secretly under someone elses name. IBN Lokmat, more mature behaviour is expected out of you. Photographers how do you think should this be tackled?
