PHOTOS: Potentially explosive device discovered in Bois Blanc, N.B. Grand Tracadie-Sheila RCMP are investigating the discovery of a potentially explosive device found in the driveway of a residence in Bois Blanc, N.B. The investigation so far has shown the suspect(s) drilled a hole into the centre of a firewood log and inserted a can containing highly flammable material. The resident found the piece of wood in the driveway and planned to use it as firewood. When the resident attempted to split the log, the can was discovered inside it. The resident reported the discovery to police on September 13, 2014. We take the discovery of a device like this very seriously, said Sgt. Marc Beaupré of the Grand Tracadie-Sheila RCMP. If the device had been exposed to heat and exploded, people could have been seriously injured or killed. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the RCMPs Explosive Disposal Unit. Police are asking the public for any information they may have about this device. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 506-393-3000 or provide the information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at crimenb.ca or 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
