PHS grad publishes first book “In the remote hills of West Virginia, 11-year-old Walter “Little” Preston finds a footprint. And oh what a footprint it is: massive and scary! Could the legends be true? Could the print really belong to the mythical Bigfoot? When Little and his dog Boomer are saved from a bear attack by a mysterious creature of the forest, Little gets his answer. Bigfoot is real!” That’s the storyline of a first book by a Petersburg High School graduate, Class of 1987 member Rob Fouch. If Fouch gets his wish, he may be reading parts of the book during appearances at local schools. “Little and Big” is a 170- page fantasy primarily aimed at readers in the 9-13 age group. It is the first time he’s tried publishing a book, despite nearly 20 years of writing headlines and articles for New York’s Newsday newspaper. Serving as a triggering event for the writer were evenings spent reading to his son, Tyler. One of the pair’s favorite books is “A Wrinkle in Time.” “I asked Tyler if he thought I should write a book,” explained the 1991 Marshall University graduate. “He said ‘yes’ and seemed excited about the idea.” Read the rest of the story in this weeks Press. The book is available on amazon. It will also be available at the Press office next week.
