PHUTURE NOIZE presents “PHUTURE PROPAGANDA.” (TL:DR/summary on the bottom of this post) As our first edition of the “#musictalks” article was such a great success, we thought it would be cool to keep sharing our thoughts about music and the creative processes within our productions with you all in the phuture. Furthermore, we also have some exciting news that we would like to announce which will hopefully excite some of you. All we can say is, prepare. As the music is the most important thing on the agenda, we want to start by informing you all about some exciting developments with regards too our phuture releases. THE PHUTURE Firstly, we feel that it was time to represent who we are personally through our music and what ‘Phuture Noize’ stands for within the diverse hardstyle scene. So what does this all mean in terms of production I hear you ask? Simply put, we feel that now is the time for an eight track EP which will be released in the near future. As an EP of this size is slightly unusual, we feel that we should elaborate upon the reasoning behind our decision….. THE PRESENT We love core elements of raw hardstyle as seemingly boundless amounts of energy can be packed into a track, and the genre also allows us an incredible freedom to write our music. We feel that the key component of nailing a raw track is capturing a form of ruthless energy, one which separates this type of hardstyle from its brethren. This believe ties into our interpretation of what raw hardstyle ‘is’. The hardstyle scene is in a constant state of change and growth, however, we feel as though the actual hardstyle essence we fell in love with is slowly fading and raw hardstyle is becoming more about “who can make the toughest track or the most intense screeches.” THE PAST Recently we were both listening to a lot of older tracks to incorporate into our sets and whilst listening to these classics, we realized that the passion and spirit contained within these classic tracks is missing from a lot of raw hardstyle tracks produced nowadays. We miss the catchiness of these older tracks, and the ‘epic’ atmospheres which made us love the genre in the first place. Of course, lots of amazing hardstyle is still being created but we want to revive the real passion, soul and musical elements that constitute hardstyle for us in the first place. That epic feeling you get when you listen to certain tracks that are truly timeless... for us, one of our favorite tracks of all time is Donkey Rollers - Immeasurably and the reason why we connect with this track is because when the break kicks in and it builds up into that immense melodic drop, it has the ability to make us fall in love with hardstyle all over again. It was when listening to tracks like Immeasurably that we realised it would be a great idea to dedicate a brand new EP to what hardstyle actually represents to us, to incorporate the vibe of these older tracks into the contemporary raw hardstyle format. “PHUTURE PROPAGANDA” is the name of this new concept, and we have based this title around a theme that will resonate throughout the tracks in the EP. Our aim is to thematically represent the atmosphere of the past with the sounds of the future. This is not to say that we are simply repeating the past and producing tracks which already sound familiar - we aim to capture the passion and character of this bygone era of hardstyle and incorporate our vision of raw hardstyle into it through the signature Phuture Noize sound. At present, we have already finished three tracks out of the eight, and the defined concepts for the others have been created. We will definitely play at least 2 of our new tracks at Q-Base this weekend so you better be there! For the non-readers or lazy people: We will be doing an eight-tracker EP that represents our current view on raw hardstyle.
