PHYSICAL ILLNESSES reflect the ILLNESSES OF OUR MINDS. This fact - TopicsExpress

PHYSICAL ILLNESSES reflect the ILLNESSES OF OUR MINDS. This fact has been universally recognized at this point. Reading the following verses called to mind how our bodies serve as repositories of our THOUGHTS and DEEDS: ************************** "{17:13} And We have made every man’s actions to cling to his neck, and We shall bring forth to him on the day of Resurrection a book which he will find wide open. {17:14} Read thy book. Thine own soul is sufficient as a reckoner against thee this day. 17:15 Whoever goes aright, for his own soul does he go aright; and whoever goes astray, to its detriment only does he go astray. And no bearer of a burden can bear the burden of another. Nor do We chastise until We raise a messenger." ************************** Ayat 13 of Surah 17 specifically asserts the actions of a man or a woman will "cling to (the) neck". I immediately thought of the THYROID and also Study Guide 18 ("Rising Above Emotions Into the Thinking of God"). "The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland that sits low on the front of the neck. Your thyroid lies below your Adam’s apple, along the front of the windpipe. The thyroid has two side lobes, connected by a bridge (isthmus) in the middle. When the thyroid is its normal size, you can’t feel it.
