PIA-CAR/KALINGA: Rep. Manuel Agyao supports the policy of Pres. Aquino to abolish pork barrel. However, he bats for the same financial assistance from the national government for rural development with the Congressional district office as link in sourcing out funds for identified projects of barangays. "While we support the policy of PNoy scrapping pork barrel, a new system of fund allocation with respect to decentralization can replace the tainted PDAF alongside reform mechanisms and stricter guidelines," he said. Fund allocation for priority projects in the districts should continue inorder not to leave behind poor provinces like Kalinga from the development race, he said.
