PIA-NCR: In the rapid appraisal of streetdwellers conducted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development- National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) in cooperation with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the concerned local government units (LGUs) last April 10-13, 2013, in 381identified critical areas in Metro Manila (MM), it was found out that out of the 3,470,400 children in MM, 3,072 children were counted on the streets; 3,524 are children of homeless streetfamilies registered under Modified Conditional cash transfer (MCCT-HSF) and an additional 3,703 were identified as occasional street dwellers appearing on the streets during Christmas and summer vacation.. In the northern cluster, Quezon City was registered wth the highest number of street dwellers comprising of 1,846 individuals. Manila has the highest number of street dwellers in the eastern cluster totalling 3,038 individuals while Pasay City is number 1 in the south with 1,124 street dwellers.
