APCs Final Mega Rally; Much Ado About Photochromic Nonsense. So it was rumored that a strange ballot paper was used to rig Ekiti governorship election on June 21 this year. Analysts went to town to say one or two things about the possibility of using such a paper in elections. Reference was made of Zimbabwe where nonagenarian Robert Mugabe was alleged to have been using photochromic ballots to perpetuate himself in power. Someone else claimed to have called his *expert friend* in Comoros Island who confirmed that such a paper had also been used there. The most convincing *expert comment* came from those who handled Polaroid cameras that were in vogue some decades ago. They opined that if Polaroid paper was used as ballots it was very possible that some fresh thumb prints could disappear while hidden factory thumb prints can become obvious after exposure to light. Ogbeni Aregbesola was unruffled. He quietly sent the best in paper and printing technology in Nigeria to several countries, universities and even factories abroad. For more than three weeks, they combed the world for the best science can do to achieve rigging through manipulation of the ballot papers. Their findings showed that two methods can be used; 1. The papers can be embedded with chemicals that will be triggered into a reaction by inks. It was in view of this that Ogbeni Aregbesola took time to explain how the ballot papers must be handled and folded; A. After collecting the ballot papers from the presiding officer, each voter must flick his/her own in the air before proceeding to vote. This will immediately trigger off a reaction in the first type of paper as explained above. The reaction will expose any factory thumb print. The voter can then raise alarm. This will automatically lead to possible cancellation of the voting process throughout the state. B. After collecting the ballot paper, each voter will flick it as explained above. A counting of three political parties logos above and below APC should be done. Folding to create sharp edges along these two lines will automatically cut off the tiny electrical wirings and prevent any reaction even as it comes in contact with ink. Thus, there will be no disappearance of any fresh thumb print. Neither will there be appearance of any hidden factory thumb print. Each voter must combine both methods above.
