PINHEADED CRITICS! While out there on one of my google searches i ran across a review of Season 7 by another one of those critics who viewed Rawhide as just another Western whos only notoriety is the launch of the illustrious movie career of Clint Eastwood. Not trying to put down Eastwoods achievement in movies, just more of a criticism of the mind set in that world that only movies judges ones worth as an actor. A prime example was his nauseating statement that here he (Eastwood), an international star do to the success of his spaghetti westerns, is back to being only a ramrod! What an indictment of that combination that worked so well for the show. It wasnt a one man is top dog western. So you see now why in Season 7 you saw the emergence of Rowdy while diminishing Gil Favor in importance to the drive (which they did little on the drive). And that destroying the formula that did work, the ratings suffered. Then we all know what happened with Season 8. It was actually the herd of cows, being driven to their destination by a group of men and the troubles along the way and it helped having them led by two handsome cowboys that help bring this Westerns popularity.
