PIPELINE VANDALISM: Court Remands 4 In Prison: PIPELINE VANDALISM: Court Remands 4 In Prison Olugbenga Soleye — Dec 23, 2014 | Leave a comment Justice Mohammed Yunusa of a Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday remanded four men arraigned before him by the police in prison custody for alleged vandalism and unlawful dealing in petroleum products . The accused persons, Andrew Ishola, 35, Sunkanmi Aro, 27, Utuedor Micheal, 27, and Oladele Agbo, 35, were docked on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, vandalism and unlawful dealing in petroleum products. The prosecutor, Raymond Akhane informed the court that the accused persons were apprehended by a team of policemen at the Majidun area of Ikorodu in Lagos, after a tip off sometime in November. Akhane also allegedly that the accused persons tampered with the free flow of refined petroleum products through an oil pipeline in the locality, and engaged in illegal sale of the products. He maintained that the offence contravene the provisions of sections 3(1), 5, and 7 of the Miscellanous Offence Act, 2004. They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge, a development that made their counsel, McAnthony Akhariale to urge the court to grant them bail. Justice Yunusa admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N1 million each, with two sureties each in like sum. He, however, ordered that they be remanded in custody, pending the fulfillment of their bail condition.
