PIRELLI READY TO ATTACK HIDDEN VALLEY CIRCUIT - TYRES NOW AVAILABLE TO ORDER FOR DARWIN ASBK Brisbane, 14 August - Round 6 of the QBE Australian Superbike Championship is set for Darwins Hidden Valley Circuit 12-15 September. Pirelli tyres can now be pre-ordered for the Hidden Valley round of the ASBK. All competitors choosing Pirelli must pre-order using the ASBK Tyre order form appropriate to their class to qualify for entry fee re-imbursment in Superbike, Pro Stock and Supersport 600 classes plus special ASBK Pirelli tyre pricing. In Supersport 600 the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC1 front and also SC1 and SC0 rear , available to all racers Australia wide, are proving the tyres of choice with three race wins and Superpole at Sydney Motorsport Park. Aaron Morris (Yamaha) was the eventual winner in both round 4 on Saturday and also round 5 on Sunday, using Diablo Supercorsa SC1 front and rear on Saturday and SC1 front and SC0 rear on Sunday to take the double round win on his Graeme Morris Motorcycles backed Yamaha R6. The Diablo Superbike is also proving to be increasingly popular with Privateer riders in the Superbike class, with riders including Glenn Allerton (Next Gen Motorsports BMW who took Superpole for Round 4 and sits in 3rd place in the championship), Linden Magee (Next Gen BMW) , Beau Beaton (Racers Edge Suzuki) and Sean Condon (Bikebiz Kawasaki) enjoying the fact that the current Diablo Superbike SC0, SC1 and SC2 used in World Superbike Championship to achieve fastest Superpole laps, race wins and outright track lap records around the world is available to them and all riders around Australia, including those racing in the QBE Australian Superbike Championship. Superbike Class Tyres can now be ordered for this class using the ‘Superbike Tyres Order Form” for pick up at the track prior to the commencement of practice at Hidden Valley. Special ASBK tyre pricing of $499 per set, with ASBK round entry fee of $480 reimbursed by Pirelli to riders at time of tyre purchase (minimum purchase 3 fronts and 4 rears per round). In 2013, the ASBK will be the first domestic championship in the world to use the new for 2013 generation of Diablo Superbike SC0, SC1 and SC2 slicks in 120/70R-17 and 200/60R-17 sizes. These tyres offer the latest compounds and construction developed in the World Superbike Championship, which is also now competing on 17” Diablo Superbike Tyres for 2013. With a the minimum tyre purchase of 3 fronts and 4 rears per round, plus the entry fee rebate, that equates to racers saving around $895 per round on what they would normally pay , which over the season is some serious savings. All Pirelli riders in the Supersport 600 class will be able to use this tyre at the Hidden Valley round. Sizes are 120/70ZR-17 front and 180/60ZR-17 rear. Tyres can now be ordered for this class using the ‘Supersport 600 Tyres Order Form” for pick up at the track prior to the commencement of practice at Hidden Valley. Special ASBK tyre pricing of $479 per set, with ASBK round entry fee of $400 reimbursed by Pirelli to riders at time of tyre purchase (minimum purchase 3 sets per round). Maximum tyre purchase quantities also apply per round. Superlites Tyres for the Superlites class can be ordered using the “Superlites Tyres Order Form” Minimum purchase of 2 sets per round to qualify for Pirelli contingency. Pirelli released their new Diablo Superbike slicks in small sizes to suit 125 and Moto3 bikes in 2012 with great success, and these will be made available to Superlites riders at $349 per set. A free set of Pirelli race tyres will also be awarded the highest placed Pirelli Privateer at each ASBK Superlites round. The Pirelli ASBK Privateer Program is exclusive to the ASBK series in 2013.
