PISSED OFF. Normally Facebook doesnt get me bent, and I dont - TopicsExpress

PISSED OFF. Normally Facebook doesnt get me bent, and I dont really care about the privacy concerns or Facebook sees everything I do kind of issues. Its free, and its social media. In for a penny, in for a pound - reap what you sew, and so forth. Today I scrolled down my page and someone had re-shared a video which we all know is now auto-play (you cant avoid seeing it unless you scroll). In a nutshell, someone dragged a dog by its tail - obviously helpless and afraid, and then threw the dog off an eight story building. Its truly a horrific piece of film, and I was quite sickened by it. And no, I will not re-share the video. I flagged the video (not blaming the person who posted it, who was evangelizing the same cause Im talking about here), and Facebook came back with: Thank you for taking the time to report something that you feel may violate our Community Standards. Reports like yours are an important part of making Facebook a safe and welcoming environment. We reviewed the video you reported for containing graphic violence and found it doesnt violate our Community Standards. Facebook has standards for snuff content (human), but generally nothing for animals or cruelty that passes a general level of what I would call basic humanitarian civility. After 6 years on Facebook (a service I greatly enjoy), today was the first time I have considered pulling the plug. Do you know what happens in the dark corners of your service Mark Zuckerberg? Do you care?
