PITFALL OF DEPRESSION Sleepless nights, feeling weak and crushed as if you’re sinking into a deep dark pit; you look at yourself in the mirror and there is no light in your face and your eyes are dull? If you feel like this then depression is knocking on your door, if not already in! Don’t believe the lie, when you feel depressed, that you are powerless to change the situation or that you cannot live with it. This thought can be so subtle that you won’t even realize it until you fall into a full-fledged depression. Depression is not God’s will for your life. Depression is a sign that something is out of order in your life or your mind. One of the biggest deceptions about depression is thinking you are the only one who is feeling depressed. Millions of people are feeling depressed right now and so did great men who were dear to God’s heart: David, the giant killer and Elijah who slayed the prophets of Baal! But both of them found God to be the ultimate answer to their depression. I don’t know what is making you feel always fatigued, troubled, self-critical, having excessive weight gain, inclined towards isolation, or unable to handle even the most menial of tasks….but it is time to take it all to God. God is on your side and knows how you feel and knows what to do through the Holy Spirit and through trained people. Because of Jesus, you can win over depression. Pray: 1. Father, You are more than able and always present in the midst of dark moments. 2. Father, show me any areas where repentance is required. (…at this point me silent and take notes…then go into repentance and call for mercy) 3. I dispel all lies that I have accepted as truth with the Word of God concerning me, in Jesus name.
