PK- :-) Almost all the intellectual viewers of PK took the pain - TopicsExpress

PK- :-) Almost all the intellectual viewers of PK took the pain to decode the movie with their indigenous theories. They have exercised painful pleasure seeing the pleasurable pain in it. I, being a part of the periphery, could see no disbelief in God. Before watching the movie I had come across some critiques on the movie by Subham, Braja Saurav and some other fb friends and now I have see Janeshwars point of view. Most of the critiques go against the movie. But the fact , at least what Ive found, is that Hirani does not aim at attacking God. Rather he has showcased Gods miracle by sending the nameless protagonist as his/her mouthpiece. Amir khan acts as a challenger against the hypocrisy of the religious priests. And what is more important is that Hirani has not attacked any particular religion. But the painful fact is that the people alongwith the political parties have found the movie attacking Hindu religion. Is it true? At least my eyes have captured the glances which focus the hollowness of Hindu Muslim Christian Jain Shikh religions. Ultimately he thanks God whom he has found above his head, in the starry sky, which is regarded the home of God. What Amir has spoken is basically the voices of everyone. Criticising the narrow means in the name of serving God is not new to us. Jatindranath Sengupta has already given us the logic- Tumi shalgram shila/ shoya bosa jar sakali saman tare niye raslila. Kabir also argued against the rituals saying - if one could purify his tongue by saying the name Rama/ by uttering the name sugar one can sweeten his mouth. I also believe in God, but not the shallow rituals. Ramkrishna Dev, a century ago, has discarded the rituals which offer pain to body and soul. Moreover, the movie is a good instance of globalised harmony which is portrayed through the love bond between Indian and Pakistan, formed in the soil of Europe, which country is blamed for the creation of rift between India-Pakistan. The movie has projected bad Rajasthani like the thief, as well as the benevolent Rajasthani like Sanjay Dutt. Society is not rooted in unmixed virtue. The next thing is that I have found the story as an allegory. Amir , to me, is not an outsider coming from another planet. He is the embodiment of those who are deprived of identity and who face linguistic oppression. Who is alien by the way? Red Indians, Africans were also alien to the Pilgrim Fathers. We will also face the same problem like Amir, if we are left in a place whose culture and language are unknown to us. Lastly, Ive enjoyed the movie very much. Ive also found Hirani as a highly intellectual and intelligent director who can identify the true meaning of Dharma which means the source which holds us.:-) thank you.
