Recived this message earlier today : Francois Frick 25 June 11:29 Hi Fred My name is Francois, farther of Dylan Frick or better known as Starboard Dylan Frick on Face Book, who took 3rd at the ISA World Champs in Peru Last year and Won the Maui Triple Crown on his 17th birthday nearly two years ago, and Multiple South African SUP Champ since age 15. Let me just add this first. I heard about you and an event you are hosting (SUP Trophy of the Promised Land) in Isreal in November, and did a bit of searching. What I found knocked the socks off me. I came across your Wet Wheels Surfer Face Book page filled with happy faces and alot of love and inspiration. I came across your midnight poem which caught my imagination from start to finish, and also later came across an article of you on the ashbodnet site which made me think that what I do for the local surf community here in Strand is absolutely nothing compared to your amazing ways, and I have full use of all my limbs. You captured the heart of my imagination as I myself was once nearly a quadriplegic after breaking my neck in three places while trying to earn a living abroad. I remember the doctors saying my chances of survival were slim, and my chances of recovery of any sort even slimmer. But I was content with what ever God had in stall for me, AND I KNOW that thats what got me through. i knew my family would be fine if I never made it back home to SA. I dont talk about it enough I know, as I should use my experience as an example for the youth to get their relationship with God together before its too late. Maybe I will get some courage together some day and take it to the next level. Your story is just so thought provoking and inspiring. Thank - You! As for your event, I will try my utmost to try find funding for my son to attend it, if even just to be able to meet and spend time in your presence, as I believe it would.be to his advantage observing an insprational ledgend at work. Mr Frick, I am so NOT a legend...just trying to make a small difference. sharing a smile or 2. My sons, Leo and Julius and I have decided that we will invite your son at our expence.
