PLEASE CAN WE STRAIGHTEN THESE THINGS OUT ONCE AND FOR ALL: Is an Agbor man Igbo? Is Igbanke man in Edo state Igbo? Is Ikwerre man Igbo? Is Ndoni man Igbo? AGBOR I had a friend way back in time who hails from Agbor but insisted they are not Igbos. I also have a female colleague in the office who is an indigene of Agbor who declared they are Igbos. Again I met three prominent chiefs-two from Ogwashi-Uku and one from Agbor, in a hot argument that ensued, the two Ogwashi-Uku chiefs insisted that the Agbor people are Igbos but the Agbor chief rejected they are Igbos. IGBANKE I also met a man from Igbanke immediately after the creation of Delta state and he complained that they were supposed to join their kits and kins in Delta states as according to him they are Igbos. Why would an Igbanke man claim he is Igbo but an Agbor man say he is not? IKWERRE AND NDONI I just read a piece today where Dokubo Asari described the Ikwerres and Ndonis as Igbos but not too long ago the governor of Rivers state, Rotimi C. Amaechi who is a bona fide Ikwerre man declared that they are not Igbos (Biafrans) What is the real situation please , are these people being forced to deny their Igbo heritage ? By who and for what? Or are they actually non-Igbos but had Igbo influences on their culture over the years?
