PLEASE COMPLETE THIS SURVEY!!! To all members Federated Farmers is surveying its members to find out what they think about Boarding Allowances based on distance to a school. During the past year the Ministry of Education has been taking a new look at these bursaries. From 2014, Boarding Allowances will replace these boarding bursaries and the Māpihi Pounamu Financial Support Scheme. However, correspondence school remains a viable option for many families and maintains its excellent reputation. From 2014 there will be two types of Boarding Allowances, based on: Geographical isolation barriers, for those where the main barrier is distance to a school; and Significant barriers, for those students who have other issues that prevent them from participating meaningfully in their local school. This category will not be addressed in this survey. Federated Farmers is surveying its members to find out what they think about Boarding Allowances based on distance to a school. The survey will remain open to members until 15 November 2013. Click here for more information.
