PLEASE GOD WITH YOUR LIFE - 2 (You may share) No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. (2 Tim. 2:4) God called us to a life of full turn around from death to life. One time we were dead in our sins, and the next time it was a different story - we were redeemed. It means we were bought with the very life of Jesus - His blood, and we were made alive in Him from then on. It is walking in this newness of life daily, through obedience to the Word daily which shows that what Jesus did for us, is at work in us. NOT I THAT LIVES, BUT CHRIST THAT LIVES IN ME As a good soldier, your number one goal is to please your Commanding Officer - Jesus, as you allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into the truth of Gods Word with understanding. You then follow the leading of the Spirit daily. As many that are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. You dont do what you want, but you do what He reveals to you in the Word! It is obeying that which you learn that you show yourself to be a good soldier of Christ. This is the walk of faith, and you know that without faith it is not possible to please God (Heb.11:6), because faith demands that you trust God and His Word, and nothing else. Sometimes, this may look foolish to your natural reasoning, and you may be tempted to take your own course. No dont do that. It leads to death. The Word of God says in Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. No human reasoning outside God is safe. It may look safe for the mean time, but ultimately it leads to death. But you are a good soldier. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 2 Tim.2:3 What you may have to face, the good fight of faith, are but light and momentary afflictions when compared to eternal life you have in Christ Jesus! In my life, I am a living testimony to this that I have not seen where and when the Word of God ever failed once! You can rest your whole life on the Word of God because we are born of the incorruptible Word of God that lives and abides for ever. The Word of God never changes just like God never changes! What the Word promises you today is the same tomorrow and for eternity. The Word of God is eternal because God is eternal, for God and His Word are inseparable - they are one! Any moment you entertain a suggestion that the Word of God is out of date with todays contemporary world, then you are in total ignorance. SPIRITUAL CHAOS WITHOUT GOD! Man thinks he can rely on himself apart from God. Look at the scale of chaos, murder, suicide, violence, crimes, carnality etc in the modern day 21st century! Where is the modernisation or the sophistication or the civilisation? Men turn away from God only to realise that they are not capable or keeping the peace and order in the world without God like they thought! The fool says in his heart there is no God. HOLD FAST TO GOD But you child of God, hold on to God, trust His Word, obey Him in all your ways. Be a student of the Word, so that ignorant preachers will not prey on you, so that you will be Christlike in word, in deed and in nature. God be praised who brought us out of darkness into the light of life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. Jesus is Lord!
