PLEASE HELP! 1997 Powerstroke Problem. I have replaced the turbo with a new one and put a new fuel pump at the same time thinking my issue was a fuel pressure issue. The truck seems to run fine in 1st-4th gear. (Its a ZF5 5 speed) but as I increase speed the truck just really really struggles to run highway speeds at 65-70 and will hardly pull itself up a hill. We have a small hill by our house and I slow down to 50 going up it and have to downshift to fourth just to maintain 50mph. I know these trucks should make more power than that. It makes what sounds like a knocking sound at highway speeds like someone tapping a hammer on the side of the transmission. Ive been told its a fuel knock of the injectors. Im not sure. Also the truck will periodically miss at these higher speeds. It is running 2200 RPMs at 70mph so I know it should have plenty of power that it absolutely does not have. Any ideas?
