PLEASE KEEPME ANONYMOUS... Hi Zane, I am an African American lesbian female and Ive recently reconnected with the love of my life. My question is am I being over the top because she wants to be involved in her ex wifes child life? To give you a better picture- she was married to this woman for three years but claims she only married her because of her son. Back in 2012, it was ordered for his last name to be my girlfriends but the woman NEVER got it changed and here it is 2014. At one point in time, my gf had expressed that she didnt want anything to do with them because her ex would act crazy and she didnt want to deal but deep down she wants to be apart of his life and has even given me an ultimatum. My issue -my gf has taken care of her ex wife and her family for their entire relationship and wants those benefits still in effect and she has that as long as she is in our lives. (She is a liar and manipulator which also has been confirmed by my gf)... so why would she want that in our lives? Plus if the ex felt any kind of way, his name would have been changed a long time ago right? I mean honestly, am I being over the top? Please post thank u. MY RESPONSE: I feel like you are fighting a losing battle. If your girlfriend knows that her ex is a liar and manipulator, and is still willing to do all of that for her, there is really nothing you can do about it. She cares for the child and will do what it takes to make that child happy. Good luck but you need to either accept it and stop arguing about it, or move on.
