PLEASE, KINDLY READ TO THE END. While I was growing up (still growing though *smiles*), I had the privilege of becoming a member of The Boy Scout of Nigeria (now known as The Scout Association of Nigeria). Its a voluntary organization with the aim of building children and young people into becoming better and responsible citizens of their various countries, and also create a consciousness of community development service in them. I highly recommend this association to all children and young people. And to parents, please allow your wards to join their local chapters. I had lots of fond memories being a scout, talk of the weekly meetings, the parade displays, the campings, bon fire nights, hiking and mapping, and lots more. But one of the many things that caught my fancy and attention is the motto, which states that BE PREPARED. As a scout, we were taught to be prepared to face and handle any situation we come across at any given place and time. We were made to undergo courses, trainings and campings that will get us ready to face issues of life. But wait a minute, thats not where Im heading to. Its such a pity to know that a lot of us are very busy investing so much of our time and resources, striving hard to come out with a first class degree in the university, become the next Bill Gate, the youngest Doctor, the youngest Professor, attain this and that height and what have you, whereas were actually missing out on the real deal. Please dont get me wrong, I dont have any problem with anyone becoming any or all of the aforementioned, in as much as its all to Gods glory and geared towards advancing His kingdom. But let it be known to you that all of those things dont have eternal value. How much of our time and resources are we actually investing in preparation for the life after now? The second coming of Jesus Christ is becoming closer and closer like never before. Unfortunately, no one knows the hour that the Son of God shall appear in glory. Make no mistake of thinking that Hell never come back. My Mum usually say to me that its a fact that not all of us will still be alive when the general Jesus will come to take us home, but what happens when our individual Jesus comes? The bible recorded that His coming shall be like a thief in the night, a time when we least expected. This is not about dont smoke, dont drink, dont put on trousers, cover your hair while in church, which church you should attend or not, and what have you. Its about you making a wise decision today to embrace Jesus Christ as your personal saviour and Lord and start making adequate preparations for life after death if youve not started yet. Please, say this prayer with me if youre yet to give your life to Christ: Lord Jesus, I acknowledge today that Im a sinner and that you died on the cross to set me free from the grip of sin. I accept you today as my personal saviour and Lord, please wash away my sins and come live in me. Thank you Lord for saving me. Congratulations if youve just said this prayer. Please, locate a bible-believing church close to you for your growth and start making your investments for the life after. Thanks for taking time out to read this, God bless you richly. Have a beautiful weekend. Shalom! Your Brother and Friend, Samson Sammy Oyetunde.
