PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS AND SHARE! (I added the emphasis.) Serious campaign finance reform is something I believe in and hope for in 2015. Im tagging four people whod love to discuss this: John DiDonna, Beth Marshall, Paul Castaneda, Susannah Randolph The point is that weve built a democracy where a tiny, tiny fraction of the 1% dominate this first stage (nominations), and the consequence is a democracy responsible to the funders only!... Just like the history of voting was going from a tiny fraction of America who can vote to to everyone who could vote, we can go from a tiny fraction of effective funders of election to everybody funding elections... Congress could do that tomorrow. So, we we said, therefore, we need to get a Congress who would do it. We need to elect a Congress who would pass fundamental reform. What were saying is that we have one objective, to change the way campaigns are funded... We want to elect a Congressional majority committed to campaign reform. LITERALLY, WEVE GOT TO FIND TEN VOTES IN THE SENATE, THATS IT!... Its not because of Obama, and its not about Boener. Its because of this structure of fundraising that has morphed into this kind of cancer that WEVE GOT TO STAND UP AND FIND THE STRENGTH TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT.
