PLEASE NOTE:::: PICTURE OF THE PUPPIES IS FROM LAST SUMMER. PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST. ONLY MOMMA IS AVAIL::::: 20.00 Pataoka, In. This is Rosie... I first came across Rosie last summer when I saw an ad for puppies on craigslist showing them all laying in a dirt hole the mother had dug to keep them cool in the July and August heat and to try to keep flies off of them... I was able to get two of the 6 puppies. One was adopted rather quickly after both were treated for a life threatening infestation of worms and the other Im still fostering 9 months later. Rosie is located in Patoka Indiana and is the momma of my foster pup. She is barely 2 years old, a shepard/pit mix and he estimates around 90lbs. Her owner has never taken her to a vet and she has never been spayed and has been chained outside since she was 6 months old cause she Got to big for the house....He does have children that she is supposedly good with and he said she has never been aggressive with anyone although she does Bark at strangers. Not sure how she is with other dogs or cats. Only time Ive met her is when she had the pups I rescued and she did act slightly protective aggressive then but thats to be expected when people are coming and taking her babies away and a dog has never been socialized. He refused to surrender her then when I asked if I could take her too stating his kids Love her. Low and behold I was messaged the other day asking if I could take her cause he doesnt have time for her. And if not she was going to a shelter. Not being vetted or spayed and being a pit mix she will surely be put to sleep immediately if taken to a shelter. Please someone help me give this girl a chance. She has never known what its like to have someone love her, play with her, and the only interaction she gets is when she is fed. She had her babies at barely a year old and was a wonderful momma to them doing what she could to keep them alive in the hot summer outside in the dirt. The sadness in her eyes the day I left was so heartbreaking I seriously consider coming back that night to steal her. Now I wish I had knowing she has been chained for the last 9 months. I can give owners contact info upon request. Rosie needs someone with patience and time since she has not been socialized or housebroken and a fenced yard at the minimum. Needs to go to someone without small children or other pets willing to housebreak her and keep her in the house. After the life she has been forced to live she deserves that. I work full time, have two great danes and am still fostering one of her two puppies I rescued last summer and cannot take her in right now. Her baby that I have has a WONDERFUL temperament and Im sure with time, training and some love she would be a great family member for someone. If you are interested in Rosie and have a home that would be suitable for her, please call: Alysia Renner at 812-266-3285 I have the owners contact info and can help arrange a pick up day and time.
