SAG-AFTRA Nevada Local Conservatory Presents What Does a Manager Do—and Do You Need One? with Al Onorato, Personal Manager When: 1- 5 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014 (Check-in: 12:30 p.m.) Where: Creative Center Studios 4310 S. Cameron, Suite 6 (just south of flamingo) Las Vegas, NV 89103 Al Onorato brings a lot of experience to the table and we are excited to have him lead one of our Conservatory workshops. Read more about him below. Al will be talking about his background, the people hes worked with and exactly what he does and why its important to your career. Please have monologues and or scenes ready to work with Al. There will be scenes for cold readings also. Nevada Conservatory Cost: SAG-AFTRA Members: $40 a year or $20 per workshop; Others: $80 a year or $20 per workshop Pay by cash or check only the day of the event. About Al Onorato Al has been instrumental in the careers of numerous performers including Mark Harmon, Katie Holmes, David Hasselhoff, Steven Bauer, Cheryl Ladd, Michael Biehn, Gregory Harrison, Dalton James, and Oscar and Tony Award winner Kevin Spacey. Al is currently a partner at Unified Management, whose clients have included Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Eileen Brennan (Private Benjamin, Will and Grace), Oscar winner Bobby Moresco (Crash, Million Dollar Baby) and Jake Austin (Series Regular “Max” on Wizards of Waverly Place), as well as high-profile theatre actors including Joe Barbara (Broadway: Grease; Las Vegas: Jersey Boys). Al also served as a manager at Handprint Entertainment and Onorato/Guillod Management. While at Handprint, the firm’s clients included Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, Kyra Sedgwick, Tyra Banks, and Mariah Carey. Prior to this, Al was Vice President in charge of Talent and Casting at Columbia Pictures Television. He has worked on staff at Universal, CBS, and MGM. Al is also a founding member of the Casting Society of America, where he served as Treasurer and as a member of the board of directors. He received the prestigious Artios Award for Excellence in the casting of the film Bagdad Café. He also received the Casting Award of Merit from Nosotros, and was nominated twice as an outstanding individual by the Media Access Office for the Disabled. He also serves as a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in selecting Prime Time and Daytime Emmy Award winners.
