PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR FRIENDS....those of you who enjoy strolling through the nature walk on upper Franklin Avenue in Dunkirk (also known as The Peace Park, or Labarynth Park) BEWARE - today Barry was walking our dogs through the park, and our Josie stepped on an animal trap that clamped on to her paw. She was wailing and yelping and trying to bite the trap off her foot. Barry was frantically trying to set her free from the trap, and she was trying to bite him. She was obviously in a great deal of pain. She was bleeding and limping. The bleeding stopped and she allows us to gently touch it, but you can tell she is still in some discomfort, but with some TLC I think she will be ok. I hate to see this happen to anyone else. I have notified DOC, and am in the process of contacting the land owner. Please be careful out there!
