PLEASE PLEASE!!!! Take a minute to read... and visit Cowfolks Care here on FB. Tom Cardwell, march recipient. By Sheila Carlson on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 11:03pm This is the story given to me by a friend of our march recipient, Tom Cardwell. Let me tell you about my friend, neighbor, and brothers best friend since elementary school. He is one tough cowboy. Tom Cardwell is a 33 yr old fifth generation Wyoming rancher. He is married to his wonderful wife Heidi and has two daughters. Bristol is 4 years old and Reagan was born last June. First off Tom is a proud father and husband. He adores his family. Tom has one of those personalities that draws people to him, an infectious laugh that can be heard across a room, and has a gift of making people smile. He is one heck of a rough stock rider, colt breaker, and all around ranch hand. He is always the first to jump the fence to lend a hand. So now that you know a little about him heres his story. January of 2013 Tom was having pain in his lower back and like most ranchers chalked it up to everyday aches and pains of ranch work. The first of Feb they ended up in the Emergency room and after test confirmed Tom had Renal Cell Carcinoma. (Cancer of the Kidney). They did surgery but were not able to get all the lympnodes. The last year has been spent traveling to Drs in and out of state , rounds of radiation, trying different types of chemo, all types of natural stuff, all the while Tom helped out at the ranch when he could, made appearances here and their to support his friend at ranchers rodeos and even participated in a ranch rodeo in the middle of his chemo. When they traveled to Casper the middle of June it was not just for his chemo round but to welcome their second baby girl. Everytime they found the chemo wasnt working Tom was ready to try a different one. They have since run out of options and the tumor as grown enough it is pinching off the spinal chord and Tom now has no feeling from the waste down. His pain has intensified. Lets step up and help this family! UPDATE~ Tom has recently passed away. Please step up, join, and bid. There is so many great items here including our donation for a breeding to CCQH Lucky, our blue roan stallion
