PLEASE READ OVER IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE 4TH PARADE: 2013 Monument Hill Kiwanis 4th of July Parade Participant: Here are your final parade instructions and parade order. The third page is your number. Post it clearly on the front of your entry. If walkers only, show it to lineup marshals. 1. A map is enclosed on the 2nd page for your assistance. Participant parking is in a field west of I-25 Exit #158, at the intersection of Baptist Road and Old Denver Road. Marshals will assist you. Parking passes will be available there for vehicles you use to deliver your entry to its lineup position. Parking is limited so please consolidate. 2. Monument Hill Kiwanis Lineup Marshals in WHITE HATS will be in place to help you get into position. Marshals in RED HATS will control the parade route. The Chief Marshal will be positioned at Jefferson St and Lincoln St and will control the flow of the parade. 3. While the main parade does not start until 1000 (children at 0930), we encourage units to be in position by 0730 in order to be judged for recognition. Bring your breakfast (or walk up to St Peters for the pancakes) sunblock, & H2O. 4. Entrants are reminded of the following safety rules: a. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING MAY BE THROWN FROM ANY UNIT. This may encourage little children to run out into the parade route--a dangerous thing. And please don’t hand things out directly from floats. Units may employ people walking at the edge of the parade route to hand out candy, water, etc. b. NO UNIT WILL DISPENSE WATER FROM ANY PROJECTION DEVICE (gun, squirter, hose, or any other). There are two and only two exceptions: THE FIRE DEPARTMENT and THE ELEPHANT. 5. THE PARADE DOES NOT END AT THE CORNER OF 3rd St & BEACON LITE! !a. TURN RIGHT AND CONTINUE ON BEACON LITE TO 2nd AND DON’T STOP!! b. IF YOU STOP, THE WHOLE PARADE HAS TO STOP...and we’re going to give your name to the units behind you. ☺ 1) If you are on foot or on an animal, proceed straight ahead SOUTH down Beacon Lite to the Bus Barn to rendezvous with your transportation. 2) If you are in a motor vehicle of any type, turn LEFT onto 2nd Street and proceed via CO 105 or I-25 to your destination. 6. We’re all coming early to get in line and it’s probably going to be hot. Make sure your people have enough food, water, and sunblock to protect them. Remember, it’s all about having fun. Smile, keep your patience cool & enjoy the camaraderie!! 7. The MONUMENT HILL KIWANIS CLUB men and women thank you for your participation in our Independence Day celebration of service, citizenship, and patriotism. !Your Unit is:!Sundance Studio !Your Parade Position is:!79 (follow Touch of Shade / America’s Got Talent)
