PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AD BEFORE MESSAGING ME. Very sadly looking to re-home my 11 year old 16hh OTTB gelding Himmarshee. Previously posted at $1500. Asking $1350 in the hopes of finding him the perfect home before winter. Located in Chester, VT 05143. Due to recently getting married and a prospective home in the near future, I am looking to sell him before winter. This boy is very special to me. He came out of an auction in New York where he had been starved. He was fed and loved by his previous owner until I met him and fell in love with him. He has so much talent, but I just dont have the time for him anymore. According to his race records he won over $100k. Ive ridden him English, Western, and bareback. Weve done trails and some basic dressage. He does neck rein, although hes pretty rusty and would need some work to get up to snuff. Generally speaking, he isnt hot under saddle, but sometimes in new situations or places hes not used to, he can be high strung. I would recommend that he only go to a home with an intermediate to experienced rider. I havent done any showing with him, so I cant make any claims as to how good or bad he might be. I dont know if he knows lead changes, but he definitely has his form together and collects nicely. He has no injuries that I know of. I have not had any x-rays done, but he is currently up to date on all shots, vaccines, worming, coggins, and hooves. His teeth need to be floated in the near future, which will be done before snow flies if he stays with me. Hes the normal hungry TB, so he gets pelleted grain daily, along with vitamin e and selenium supplements and free choice hay. He needs his cozy blankets in the winter as he does have thin skin, and can be a bit grouchy during the fly season (I douse him in fly spray before riding and he is fine) Pre-purchase vet exams are encouraged. I would much rather be up front and honest about him than have him end up in the wrong home. He will stand quietly for grooming/tacking/baths etc. Great for the vet and farrier. At this time, he only wears front shoes, which will be pulled for the winter if he does not sell. He rides happily in a full cheek snaffle or shank. He LOVES ring work, making me think he would excell in dressage. I am not willing to let this guy to to a jumping home - Hes already had a hard enough life with 27 starts and being shipped all over who knows where. I will be extremely picky about where he goes and who he ends up with. There will be a signed contract with first right of refusal and I will require vet/farrier/personal references before he leaves me. I would also like to see where he will be living, so I will be checking into the barns/farms. He is much too special and talented to end up in a bad situation again. I DO NOT NEED TO SELL HIM, so I will wait patiently until the perfect person/home comes along. If you think you could be his person, please contact me to set up a time to come see him. If you have already contacted me about this horse, please do not contact me again. Video not available. More photos are available upon request.
